Dr. Michelle Oeser earned her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle, investigating how yeast cells use posttranslational protein modification to protect themselves from stress. Since joining Lallemand in 2014, she has held scientist, project management, and team management roles, developing novel and improved microbial products for a variety of applications, including biofuels, baking, and fermented beverages. Dr. Oeser currently leads the Lallemand Strain Improvement Laboratory, a team that leverages evolutionary engineering tools to enhance the performance of industrial yeast and bacteria. She lives in New Hampshire.
